Pride+ Wristbands Now Available to Help Keep Pride Free

With Southampton Pride just two weeks away, Pride+ wristbands are now available for those who want to support the future of the city’s Pride while enjoying some additional benefits along the way.

On Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th August 2026, Southampton will come together for a very special Pride weekend as we celebrate 10 years of Southampton Pride.

There will be live music, drag, DJs, theatre, dance, community performances, the #SoProud March, our Youth Zone, Community Stage and much more, with our biggest ever programme of entertainment taking over the city.

And, importantly, Southampton Pride remains completely free and open to everyone.

That is something we are incredibly proud of. It is also something that takes a huge amount of support to make possible.

What is Pride+?

Pride+ is our supporter scheme for people who want to do a little more to help Southampton Pride continue.

There is no requirement to buy a Pride+ wristband to attend Southampton Pride. You do not need a ticket to enter Guildhall Square, take part in the celebrations or enjoy the weekend.

Instead, Pride+ gives those who are able and willing to contribute a way to support the event financially, while receiving additional Pride+ benefits in return.

It is a simple idea: Pride stays free, while those who can support it help us keep it that way.

Why does Southampton Pride need support?

It is easy to look at Pride weekend and see the stages, performers, colourful production and crowds filling Guildhall Square. Behind that, however, is a huge amount of work and a significant cost.

Putting on a free event of this scale involves everything from staging and production to security, accessibility, medical provision, toilets, infrastructure, performers, staff and the many other things that allow thousands of people to safely come together and celebrate.

Southampton Pride has grown enormously since the first event in 2016. Now, as we reach our 10th anniversary, we are preparing for one of our biggest weekends yet.

Keeping that growth sustainable while ensuring that Pride remains accessible to everyone is a challenge. Support from our community is an important part of making that possible.

Pride+ is optional. Pride isn’t.

We know that not everyone can afford to contribute financially, and that is exactly why we have made the decision to keep the main event free.

If you cannot buy a Pride+ wristband, nothing changes. You are still welcome at Southampton Pride. You can join the March, watch the acts, visit the stalls, meet community organisations and spend the weekend celebrating with thousands of other people.

There is no hierarchy of who belongs at Pride based on what they can afford to spend.

Pride+ is simply an opportunity for those who can contribute to help make the event possible for everyone else.

Alongside the knowledge that you are helping support Southampton Pride, Pride+ options come with additional benefits for supporters.

There are different options available depending on how you want to support the event, including wristbands and upgrades for the Pride weekend.

Supporting the next 10 years of Pride

Our 10th anniversary is a chance to look back at how far Southampton Pride has come, but it is also a chance to look ahead.

We want Southampton Pride to continue being a place where people can come together, celebrate who they are, find community and feel visible and welcome.

We want to keep investing in accessibility. We want to support our community. We want to create opportunities for local performers, artists, community groups and young people. And we want to keep bringing some of the biggest names in entertainment to Southampton.

Doing that year after year requires support.

That support comes from our partners, volunteers, performers, community organisations and, importantly, the people who choose to put something back into Pride.
