Southampton Pride is a completely volunteer lead organisation with none of our family being paid for the work we do. Without the hard work of our incredible volunteers, our event simply could not operate.

If you are interested in joining our Pride Family, we are always looking for brand new volunteers to assist us in putting on the best LGBT+ pride event possible. Regardless of your background or experience, we would love to hear from you and find you the most suitable role to match your interests.

We need volunteers for the following roles:

Pride volunteer - A volunteer with various roles on the day, on a need to do basis.  This could include crowd management, fundraising, merchandising, clean up, maintaining health & safety

Fundraising - We are looking for people who are naturally talented in fundraising.  All money foes to the protection of the future of Southampton Pride - and two local LGBT+ charities.  We will have card readers available.

Breakdown Team (8:00pm - close) - This is breaking down the pride village at the end of the day.  This could suit someone who does not like the crowds of an event.  This role will finish as soon as everything is done, the more people we have the sooner we can all finish 🙂

Variety of hours available, details are on the application form.

I volunteered to give back to the community that welcomed me with open arms, hearts and minds in order to allow others to feel that same love and acceptance
Proud to support the community that supported me when I first came out.
To help bring joy and freedom for the LGBT community and fellow friends & family. It's also a great atmosphere to absorb & pass on.
I originally volunteered to help out at Pride as I wanted to be part of something bigger than myself and to make some new friends. I’ve stayed because I’m having the best time, feel valued and have made lifelong friends.
To see all the lovely LGBTQI family come together of course. Be around and surrounded by lesbians too like myself.
I volunteered for Pride for the first time with my husband this year. It was incredible to see the loving atmosphere where people of all ages, culture, race and gender come together and feel completely able to express who they are. It was also amazing to have more awareness of charities and support networks available for the LGBTQ+ community.
