As we step into August, we’re proud to officially announce that Southampton Pride 2025 is happening — and this year, we’re coming together under a powerful theme: “Proud to Be.”
Taking place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th August, Southampton Pride will once again transform the city into a vibrant celebration of love, identity, and community. But this year, it’s about more than just celebration — it’s about showing up, standing together, and making our voices heard.

“In the current political climate — where LGBTQ+ rights are under threat, and many communities are being targeted or silenced — Pride remains a vital act of resistance and unity,” says Jay Edwards-Bannon, Marketing & Communications Manager for Southampton Pride.
“We face growing financial and political pressures across the UK, with many local Prides struggling to survive. But we believe Pride should always be visible, accessible, and free. That’s what we’re fighting for — and why we need your support.”
Across the country, LGBTQ+ people and allies are facing a rising tide of division, misinformation, and underfunding. Pride events like ours are up against increasing costs, limited funding, and reduced public support — yet the need for these safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces has never been greater.
The Theme: “Proud to Be”
That’s why this year’s theme, “Proud to Be,” invites everyone to reflect on what makes them proud — and to share that with the world. Whether you’re proud to be LGBTQ+, proud to be a parent, proud to be disabled, proud to be trans, proud to be working-class, proud to be an ally, or anything in between — this is your Pride.
“This theme is about celebrating all the things that make us who we are,” says Jay. “Our differences are our strength — and we want this Pride to be a space where every single person feels proud to be themselves.”

About the Weekend
Southampton Pride 2025 will feature:
-
A city-centre parade
-
Live music and performances on multiple stages
-
Community and advocacy stalls
-
A family-friendly area
-
And a full day of celebration, education, and activism
As always, the event is free to attend, made possible by the hard work of volunteers and the generosity of supporters, sponsors, and donors. But we can’t do it alone — and we’re asking our community to help make Pride possible.
Whether you want to march, volunteer, sponsor, donate, or simply turn up and be visible — this Pride is for you. Together, we will show that hate has no home here, and that we are all Proud to Be.
