Southampton Pride is just around the corner, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome you to a weekend full of love, celebration, and community. To help you plan your visit, we’ve pulled together answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. Whether it’s about timings, travel, accessibility, or where to grab a drink, we’ve got you covered!
Do I need a ticket?
No tickets needed – Southampton Pride is completely free to attend. Just turn up, join the March or head straight to Guildhall Square, and enjoy the celebrations.
When does Pride start?
The Pride March kicks off at 11:00am on Saturday 23rd August from Queens Park, travelling through the city centre before arriving at Guildhall Square.
Our Main Stage entertainment runs from 12:00pm – 10:00pm on both Saturday and Sunday, with a packed line-up of music, drag, DJs, and community performances.
Is Southampton Pride family-friendly?
Absolutely! Pride is an event for everyone. There will be plenty of activities for families and young people to enjoy across the weekend, including our dedicated Youth Zone.
Will there be food and drink available?
Yes! From delicious street food stalls to bars serving drinks throughout the day, there’s something for everyone. And to help you stay refreshed, bottled water is available at our official merch stands for just 50p.
Please note: You are welcome to bring your own food, but no alcohol or glass bottles are permitted on site.
How accessible is the event?
We’re committed to making Southampton Pride as accessible as possible. There will be step-free access across the site, viewing platforms, and accessible toilet facilities. If you have specific accessibility needs, our team will be on hand to assist.
What about safety and security?
Your safety is our top priority. Expect bag checks on entry and a friendly, visible security presence across the weekend. We want everyone to feel safe and supported as they celebrate.
Can I take photos?
Yes, please do! 📸 Capture your favourite moments, share them on social media, and don’t forget to tag us. Just remember to respect people’s privacy when taking pictures. Professional Photographers should apply for a Media Pass to [email protected] ASAP.
How do I get there?
We recommend using public transport where possible – Southampton is well-connected by train and bus. There is no event-specific parking, but plenty of city centre car parks are nearby if you’re driving.
What happens if it rains?
Pride goes ahead rain or shine. Pack your glitter, your flag, and maybe a poncho just in case – the celebrations won’t stop whatever the weather!
How is Pride funded?
Southampton Pride is a free event made possible thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, partners, and the local community. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helps us keep Pride accessible to all.
Still got a question?
We’ll be sharing more information in the run-up to the weekend across our website and social media channels. If your question isn’t answered here, just get in touch – our team will be happy to help.
